In June, we had the pleasure of being a part of Sam and Andrea’s amazing wedding day. These two have a truly special relationship and have already been through a lot as a couple. The love they share, and their commitment to one another, is incredible to witness. For those of us fortunate enough to be present for their wedding day, it was impossible to keep a smile off your face, and to not shed at least a tear or two from the shear happiness of the day. My favorite moment of the evening was witnessing the pure joy on both of their faces, as well as the faces of their friends and family, while they shared their first dance as husband and wife. It was a magical moment no one in the room will ever forget.
Andrea had a true vision for her wedding day, and all of the elements came together beautifully to create a day that was uniquely theirs. We have done many weddings at Travellers Rest, and this one was different, and it was absolutely perfect for this couple. From the ceremony location with the trees perfectly framing the wedding party, to the inclusion of church pews for guest seating, to the beautiful magnolias blooming all over the property, and even the furry family member being included in the ceremony, you couldn’t have asked for a better start to their marriage.
After the “I Do’s” they had cocktail hour with specialty popsicles for the guests to enjoy before dinner. It was wonderful, refreshing treat on a hot June afternoon. Guests also got to play lawn games, including corn hole on a custom set made by the groom! When it was time to come inside for dinner and dancing, guests entered a barn filled with lots of personal touches from the bride and the groom. They created personalized coasters for each guest, hand crafted elements of the table centerpieces, had guests sign a guitar, and the wedding cake was made by Andrea’s sister (and it was delicious)! These special touches, in combination with the warm, elegant color palette they chose set the mood for a fun evening celebrating with family and friends. They thought of everything, and their planning and love showed in every single moment of the day.
