When you work with a couple as genuine and loving as Elyse and Thomas during the entirety of their 18 month engagement, it’s hard to say good bye after the wedding is over. This was the case in September when Elyse and Thomas said “I Do” at the gorgeous Meadow Hill Farm in Columbia. The day was perfection thanks to great vendors and a laid back couple who just wanted to have an enjoyable and memorable day with their friends and family.
Meadow Hill Farm offers so much for all their couples and creates the perfect backdrop for a romantic rustic wedding. An outdoor ceremony at their arbor with church pews, followed by cocktail hour in their garden before heading into their reception space which comes complete with draping and lighting makes the day flow so smoothly. Simple flowers, awesome music, great food, and a few drinks are all you need to complete the day when you choose this venue.
The couple chose to have an unplugged ceremony so their family and friends could be truly present for their vows. It also allowed their photographer greater access to get just the perfect shots without worrying about camera phones getting in the shot. After the ceremony, Elyse and Thomas got to speak to each guest as they released the rows to the cocktail hour. This is an option that has been done more often recently to allow each guest a moment to congratulate the bride and groom without have a formal receiving line. Another personal touch was during cocktail hour. Elyse LOVES Taylor Swift, so instead of standard background music, she had a harpist playing T-Swift throughout the cocktail hour, along with Beatles and other fun, recognizable hits you would never expect to hear on a harp. The party continued all evening with a rockin’ DJ and a group ready to hang out and have fun with the newlyweds. Thanks to Elyse and Thomas for including us in your day!
