When thinking back on Melissa and Evan’s June wedding, there is one word that comes immediately to mind: FUN! This couple wanted to entertain their guests during their entire wedding day, and that goal was definitely achieved. Everywhere you looked there were little touches that represented Melissa and Evan. The wedding party walked down the aisle in coordinating tennis shoes, the bride and groom toasted with Fireball during the ceremony, cocktail hour included lawn games and the night ended with s’mores and a popcorn bar! What more could you ask for?
Melissa chose bright colors to accent the grey dresses and linens, so we incorporated real fruit into the centerpieces. The orange and lemon slices really popped alongside the sunflowers and roses on the tables; they smelled amazing as well! Guests got to leave personalized notes for the bride and groom to read as they celebrate upcoming anniversaries in lieu of a traditional guestbook, which guests really enjoyed.
Evan’s mom made the wedding and groom’s cakes, and both looked and tasted amazing. Speaking of mom’s: Melissa’s mom had us bring a special treat for the bride. She loves green peas, but they had opted to not include them on the dinner menu since they aren’t usually a favorite, so we had a special bowl just for Melissa when dinner was served and she was thrilled. It was attention to little details like this that really created a personalized day for everyone there to remember.
The laughs and smiles kept going well into the night thanks to great food and drinks from Two Fat Men, fun music provided Brad Reed of 3rd Coast DJ to keep the guests (and planners) up and moving all night, and a gorgeous space at Green Door Gourmet! Even with the TN summer heat, any of those in attendance would have been happy to party until the sun came back up that Saturday night. Thanks to Melissa and Evan for including us in your day, and allowing us to have a ton of fun along the way.
