The Great Venue Hunt

March 27, 2010

Andrea and Doug told me they wanted a classic, simple, southern wedding. Right away I thought …MANSION. There are several great mansions and Bed & Breakfasts across middle Tennessee. The hardest part was narrowing it down to a few and then one perfect location. I knew that Andrea wanted a place where she could have the ceremony and reception all in one location. She is excited for the idea of an outdoor wedding but wanted to have a rain plan in place. She has a budget of $3000 for venue rental and would like that budget to include tables and chairs for 75- 100 people. Here is where we explored.

Belmont Mansion is located on the Belmont Campus. This mansion has been restored and has original furniture and art that make it an attraction to tourists and guests. The Belmont Mansion really tells a story of southern heritage. Guests have the opportunity to tour the museum during the reception. What a great way to entertain!

The Mansion provides tables, chairs, and even silver serving pieces for weddings and events. They have a list preferred caterers and vendors that can help make the experience magical.

The Rawlings is a very rustic setting for a peaceful and romantic wedding. The outdoor wedding space sits next to a trickling creek under shaded trees. The indoor space is cozy and warm! If you like a clean, natural feel, the Rawlings is the space for you.

Everything from the flower arrangements to the award-winning wedding cakes personally made and decorated by Mrs. Rawlings, will be to your specifications.

Nestled way in East Nashville, Riverwood Mansion is a great space for a classic, southern wedding. Riverwood has packages that make this a one-stop shop. There are many spaces on the grounds for a ceremony and/or reception. The wedding team at Riverwood is on top odf things and are fun to work with!

Riverwood works with Enchanted Florist and the Bake Shoppe. They really can help cover the details.

Cedarwood is an antebellum farm house. The big white house with the red barn in the back is a great location for a clean, country wedding. Cedarwood is a one stop shop for weddings as well. They cover ALL the details. They have packages at different price points. All you have to do is show up.

After spending a Saturday checking out all of these great locations, Andrea and her family had a though job ahead of them. I loved all the venues and would be excited to work at any of them! The location they chose was…..

Riverwood Mansion!!!

Gotta run to Riverwood Mansion to plan a wedding.
